Finalists announced in Germany, Austria and Switzerland wine list awards
On May 25, Star Wine List will come to Vienna to celebrate the best wine lists of Germany, Austria and Switzerland and the teams behind them. Our four-person expert jury panel is now done deliberating, and today we can reveal the finalists.
"The jury sure had a tough challenge this time around with so many great entries from all three countries. In the end our expert jury has made an exciting and diverse selection and we can't wait to welcome all the finalists to Vienna in May," said Krister Bengtsson, Star Wine List's publisher.
Germany, Austria and Switzerland is included to our 2023-2024 International tour, and this is the third time we are running it in Germany and Austria, and the second time for Switzerland. This event will celebrate all three countries combined to host them in Vienna during VieVinum on May 25.
Please note that there will be one winner per country in each category, except the Sustainable Wine List and Grand Prix categories which will have one winner for the entire region.
Besides the national winners in each category, there will be one winner named for the whole region.

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2024, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
