Witwenball

Witwenball is a wine restaurant located in the stylish alternative neighbourhood of Eimsbüttel. The owners, Julia and Axel Bode, have a fantastic sense of style; the interior is relaxed and bold, featuring fun wallpaper, plush blue and orange velvet chairs, walls of wine and a lovely bar in the middle of the dining room. The location is a local hangout, with neighbourhood folks having dinner or a glass of wine.

This is a place where the guests on the terrace know the people that are walking by, and people stop for a chat. It is part of the community feeling in this neighbourhood. Witwenball has a very thoughtful approach to food and wine. The ingredients are sourced locally whenever possible and highlight seasonal produce. The chef also offers an ever-changing four-course menu for 59 Euro in addition to the à la carte selection.

On Sundays, you will find the cities sommeliers hanging out enjoying the Wiener Schnitzel. The Schnitzel and its classic sides are only offered Sundays in limited quantities. Go early, they can sell out fast!

The wine selection features exclusively biodynamic, organic and natural wines. The glass list offers around 30 wines that change regularly, with the bottle list containing 300 different labels.

The main focus is Germany, Austria and France, with a bit of Spain and Portugal. The list is divided by region and offers an in-depth selection of vintages and bottlings.
