From Singapore to Shanghai, meet the finalists in Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025
The finalists in Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025 are spread from Singapore to Shanghai by way of Bangkok, Ho Chi Ming City and Taipei. The judges have deliberated on a diverse set of wine lists submitted by wine bars and restaurants across the continent and we now have a shortlist of 65 venues competing for Gold Stars.
Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025 will see Gold Stars awarded to the best wine lists across Greater China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. The winners will be announced online on 1 May.
Our jury panel – comprised of four internationally-acclaimed sommeliers – enjoyed a lively debate while deciding who should contend for Gold and Silver Stars. Their finalists span 15 locations across Asia with particularly strong representation in Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul and Macau, and a promising number of entries to the Best Newcomer List category, which lauds venues opened within the past year.
Winners in the international categories will go on to participate in the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, pitting Gold Stars from around the world against one another in a global showdown to round off this season’s tour. This awards ceremony will be held in Vienna, in June.
Our Asian competition also includes local categories, specific to this regional heat, recognising the best selections of Italian and Spanish wines.
Meet all of the finalists, below, and subscribe to our newsletter to find out who wins gold in May.

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners – that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
