Cannubi by Umberto Bombana Wine List
About Cannubi by Umberto Bombana
Cannubi is the Bangkok outpost of legendary Italian chef Umberto Bombana, perhaps most famous for his three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong, 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana. His Bangkok restaurant in the centrally located Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel in Silom, is a more relaxed and casual experience than his Hong Kong restaurant, while still being professional and sharp.
Food is kept elegant and light with great flavours and at somewhat reasonable prices, considering the level of cooking, the ingredients, and the five-star hotel location.
The focus of the wine list is (of course) on Piedmontese wines and, in particular, the selection of wines from the Cannubi MGA is impressive, with a good selection of its top producers in newer top vintages. In addition to the Italian selection, the list also features a good array of French wines – the Burgundy and Bordeaux sections will satisfy more Francophile drinkers. Prices are on the higher side, as expected, but there are still some wines at approachable prices for guests who are looking for bottles below 3,500 baht.

Italy is the beating heart of this wine program, from the communes of Barolo to the contrada of Etna. Rather than being an encyclopaedia of Italian wine full of deep verticals, it is a curated approach, with each chapter telling part of the Italian wine story in easily digestible bites. This is what ultimately won the jury over in this high-calibre field. [Gold Star: Best Italian Wine List, Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026.]
