Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025 – enter now
The Star Wine List of the Year competition is celebrating the wine lists of Asia for the third time, with an online awards ceremony on 26 May 2025.
Star Wine List of the Year Asia 2025 will take place as a digital event, on 26 May 2025. Applications are free of charge and we welcome entries from the markets where Star Wine List is already active, which are:
• Greater China (incl. Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan)
• Malaysia
• Singapore
• South Korea
• Thailand
• Vietnam
All other regions should take a look at our International Open (deadline: 2 March 2025).

Winners in the international categories at Star Wine List of the Year Asia will be entered into our International Final, where winners from around the world are pitted against one another in a global showdown. These Gold Stars will be announced on 16 June, in Vienna.

Judges
The expert judging panel for Star Wine List of the Year Asia includes three top sommeliers:
• Salvatore Castano – Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa 2021
• Stefan Neumann – Master Sommelier
• Stephen Wong – Master of Wine
• Reeze Choi – Third-Best Sommelier of the World 2023 (ASI)
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
THE CATEGORIES
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list of the overall competition.
• Best Long List For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
• Best Short List
Fewer than 200 references.
• Best By the Glass List
• Best Sparkling Wine List
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List
Recognises a wine list that has put extra emphasis on the wine program’s overall impact, including vine growing, winemaking, packaging and transport. Assessed via a questionnaire during the application process.
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
LOCAL CATEGORIES:
• Best Italian Wine List, presented by Ceretto
• Best Spanish Wine List, presented by Familia Torres
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
