About Speilsalen at Britannia Hotel
Speilsalen received its first Michelin star after being open for only ten months. Situated in the Britannia Hotel, this restaurant boasts all the historical splendour of its location and really brings your thoughts towards the grand dining rooms in central Europe, with gilded ceilings, chandeliers and a deeply committed team of young professionals.
The menu concept is simple as there is only one; the Full Experience, and with a service team striving for perfection, you can expect a well-rehearsed gastronomic ballet. All the dishes are meticulously prepared and packed with flavour in a generous, more bright style of Nordic cuisine.

When it comes to wine, this establishment offers three different wine pairings, where the only rule is quality and compatibility. If you want to add that little extra, you should choose their Wine Lovers pairing which offers great wines from across the world and often in well-developed vintages.
A big benefit in this restaurant is the opportunity to choose your favourite bottles from the main cellar, and the staff will prepare and serve them for you where they best fit into your menu.

The service is more than correct and the speed in which the dishes are served as well as their size is also well balanced. Mentioning one specific dish is pointless as the menu keeps changing, but I do find that Christopher and his team are truly unique when it comes to showing off the flavours of Norwegian seafood. The wine list is a joy to read with some good buys.

The full cellar list, with a classic focus and packed with Champagne, is always available, but this is really a place to opt for the wine pairings, especially the Wine Lovers option.
