This legendary establishment in Helsinki opened in 1937 and is considered to be one of the top-notch restaurants in Helsinki. Restaurant Muru in Helsinki is one the most acclaimed wine restaurants in Finland and has received several prizes and awards for its wine program, for example ”Best of Award Excellence” by Wine Spectator. Muru opened in 2010, and the food philosophy is to pick the best seasonal ingredients and turn them into high-end bistro dishes that you can either enjoy as a four-course meal or à la carte. This cosy little wine bar situated on one of the restaurant-filled streets of Helsinki was founded by three friends and has a super warm design, and a cozy atmosphere. The ever-changing wine list offers many choices by the glass and bottle, mostly from small- and mid-sized producers. To accompany the wines there are small bites, charcuterie, and cheese available. During the summer there is a small terrace on the street and next door there is a space where they often host various wine tastings. This is one of the few places in Helsinki that is also open on Sundays!
