Geranium in Copenhagen won Best Long List in the International Final

Fine dining restaurant Geranium in Copenhagen, Denmark, won the Gold Star in the Best Long List category when Star Wine List of the Year International Final was celebrated on June 24. The category was presented by Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné. Finalists from 20 countries joined the celebrations in Stockholm.
"Thank you so much. Around five years ago we started to work to build the list even more, serving wines from all corners of the world that we like to drink ourselves," said Head Sommelier Andrea Roug Sala on the stage.
”This is a very complete list which not only covers the expected and the essentials of the wine world, but also delights with topical, exciting, and sometimes surprising wines that take the guests to memorable wine journeys,” said jury member Heidi Mäkinen MW about the winning list.
Geranium – a restaurant with three Michelin stars situated on the 8th floor in Fælledparken (Common Gardens) in the center of Copenhagen – also won the category Best California Wine List. Over the years, Geranium has won no less than eight Gold Stars in Star Wine List of the Year Denmark.

Our ambassador in Copenhagen, Rasmus Lunkov Marquart, describes Geranium as "the only three-star Michelin restaurant in Denmark and with Chef Rasmus Kofoed in the kitchen, you are set for an experience". Regarding the wine list, he says: "Geranium offers several wine pairings with names like "Heart & Soil" and "Classic & Appellation" but do not forget to browse the wine list here before you go, it is over 100 pages long and has some serious verticals".
The category was presented by Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné, represented in Stockholm by Grégory Joannes.
"I guess most of you know us and our wines. I just want to say thank you to all of you that are here for the job you’re doing. We’re selling the wines together, and the people in this room are doing the work of showcasing the wines to the guests," he said before announcing the winner.
