Stockholm Stadshotell wins Best Medium-Sized List in Sweden 2025

The Gold Star for the Best Medium-Sized List of 2025 has been presented to the Stockholm Stadshotell at the Star Wine List of the Year Sweden awards.
Despite opening as recently as December 2024, the Stockholm Stadshotell has already established itself as a landmark in the city. And on 7 April 2025, at the nearby Skyddsrummet, the team was recognised for having Best Medium-Sized List in the whole country.
This category rewards wine lists that feature between 200 and 600 references, and in Sweden, it is this year supported by Dreissigacker. Export Manager Samuel Kirr presented the Gold Star to Stockholm Stadshotell's Wine Director, Alexandra Karosis.
Jury member Nina Jensen described the wine list as one that “emits experience and confidence. It is precise, well-designed, and offers great producers, well-aged selections, and favourable pricing. Meanwhile, a clear red thread runs throughout. The sparkling wines section stands out as particularly strong.”
Stockholm Stadshotell will now join fellow Best Medium-Sized List winners from around the world, to compete in the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, which will be held in Vienna this June.

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
