    Address: Biskopsvägen 9, Stockholm

Best Long List Sweden, presented by Biondi-Santi 2026

Swedish master chef Tommy Myllymäki opened the grand fine dining restaurant Aira during the hard spring of 2020 when things were looking really bad for the dining scene. The vision paid off despite this and Aira is well on its way to being a new classic in the city - beautifully located by the seaside on Djurgården. The design is grand, modern and very Scandinavian, and the cuisine is very much the same. Aira has been rewarded with two stars by Guide Michelin. The service team is experienced and very professional. A must-visit for visitors to Stockholm. There is also a beautiful bar and outd...

Fjällnäs – Sweden’s oldest mountain hotel – is beautifully situated in Tänndalen, close to the Norwegian border. Surrounded by the mountains and with a lake just outside the door, this is a place for all the senses. In 2024, Fjällnäs Restaurant submitted its list to Star Wine List of the Year Sweden, and it’s no exaggeration to say that the list wowed our jury members, ultimately winning the Gold Star in the Best Medium-Sized List category not just in Sweden, but also in the International Final. The wine list is very complete for its size, with an impressive breadth of both origins and style...

  4. Interior of restaurant Solen, Stockholm, Sweden.

    Phone: +46 812 653 600

    Address: Hallgränd 45, Johanneshov

Best Short List Sweden, presented by Château Bastor-Lamontagne 2026

Solen is run by the Adam/Albin group, and in our opinion that guarantees two important things: very good food and service at the highest level. Or three things, actually – there are always well-chosen (and often original) beverages in the group, which has sommelier doyen Sören Polonius in the background. And the front-of-house team will be familiar to anyone who knows the original Adam/Albin restaurant. Solen is located in the reborn Slakthusområdet (meatpacking district) near the Avicii Arena in southern Stockholm. The old factory-like premises have been given a modern, circular interior des...

  6. Bar at Folii wine bar in Stockholm, Sweden.

    Address: Erstagatan 21, Stockholm

Best By-the-Glass List Sweden, presented by Château Galoupet 2026

Experienced sommeliers Béatrice Becher and Jonas Sandberg opened the Stockholm wine bar they wanted to visit themselves in this eastern Södermalm part of town. The name plays on the French word for madness, “folie”. As you'll see on the interior, it’s loosely related to Territoriet in Oslo. Folii is one of the best wine bars in town and they have won our wine list competition in the By-the-Glass category several times. There are tasty small dishes on the menu and, if you are eager for a more full meal, drop in to their restaurant next door: Voisine.

At Restaurang Jord in Linköping, there’s a common thread running through everything they do – sustainability and locality are the driving forces here, and over the years they’ve earned several prestigious awards for this outlook. Their philosophy isn’t just something that shows up on the plate or looks good on paper – it’s woven into every detail. The glassware comes from nearby Reijmyre Glasbruk, the digestif trolley is stocked with Swedish-made spirits, and a Morakniv knife is set out alongside your cut of meat. They aim to keep food waste as close to zero as they can, making use of almost e...

    Special Jury Prize Sweden 2026

Sommelier Anton Hansson has a background that includes the Grand Hôtel and Bistro Mirabelle in Stockholm, plus a number of years spent in New York. Now he's ‘done a Babette,’ taking over a pizza spot on Södermalm and turning it into a mecca for wine lovers. This place sports pizzas, tasty small dishes and a wine list out of the ordinary. No: way beyond the ordinary – pages and pages of rare wines and older vintages from regions including Bordeaux, Italy and Jura are all offered at extremely low mark-ups. One source of inspiration has been Lilla Napoli in Falkenberg. As Anton says: “I just ha...

The restaurant, which previously housed renowned chef Petter Nilsson, is now run in-house and serves good seasonal husmanskost, both for lunch and dinner. But we come to Spritmuseum above all for the drinks. The wine and drinks list has a unique focus on Swedish wines – Spritmuseum really is the embassy of Swedish quality wines and cider in the capital. The knowledge is ext...
