About Fjällnäs Restaurant

Fjällnäs – Sweden’s oldest mountain hotel – is beautifully situated in Tänndalen, close to the Norwegian border. Surrounded by the mountains and with a lake just outside the door, this is a place for all the senses.

In 2024, Fjällnäs Restaurant submitted its list to Star Wine List of the Year Sweden, and it’s no exaggeration to say that the list wowed our jury members, ultimately winning the Gold Star in the Best Medium-Sized List category not just in Sweden, but also in the International Final.

The wine list is very complete for its size, with an impressive breadth of both origins and styles. On it, you will mainly find wine producers who focus on sustainability and the uniqueness of the place of origin. As a guest, there is plenty to get excited about, and no matter what you choose, you can be sure that what is poured into the glass will both be perfectly ready to drink and will go well with the food.

The dishes served are pure, simple and straightforward, with Nordic influences and, of course, some elements of the mountain world. Seasonal ingredients form the basis for classic dishes with interesting twists, and the menu changes in line with the eight different ‘seasons’ that the entire hotel works around too.
