The South African wine industry's inner circles are flocking (socially distanced and masked, of course) to Culture Wine Bar on Cape Town's famous Bree St. The bar is super vibey with inviting burnt sienna hues, mood lighting, and a range of overstuffed booths, high top places to perch. Or you can park yourself at the bar and pontificate with the very knowledgeable staff.
About the Culture Wine Bar Wine List
The wine list, curated by renowned Chef Matt Manning of Grub & Vine, boasts wines from Burgundy to Bot River. The offer by the glass changes daily or hourly depending on demand, and they have a great list of bottles with very limited production.
The wine list is broken down by the "Fresh & Smashable," like the famous Costa del Swart Fauxjolais by The Wine Thief. Then, when you are looking to really nerd out, you can check out the "For the Geeks" section, where you can find some Grenache Gris from FRAM wines and Momento. If you are looking for the classics, "Good Old Proper Juice" has you covered with the Alheit Vineyards Cartology and, of course, the coveted Sadie Family Wines Palladius. If you want to venture outside of South Africa, "All around the World" offers wines from France, New Zealand, and Italy.
