News / Denmark

On 2 September we will return to Denmark to celebrate the best wine lists and the teams behind them for the fifth time. Now our international jury has evaluated all the wine lists that entered the competition – and today we reveal the finalists.

Denmark will be our first stop on the Star Wine List of the Year international tour 2024-2025. The event will be held in Copenhagen on 2 September together with the Danish Sommelier Championship.

Jury: Julie Dupouy-Young, Doug Frost MW MS, Kathrine Larsen-Robert MS, Stephen Wong MW

The jury for the Danish event is filled with top wine professionals:

• Julie Dupouy-Young, Best Sommelier of Ireland
• Doug Frost MS MW, USA
• Kathrine Larsen-Robert MS, Danish, based in the UK
• Stephen Wong MW, New Zealand

Categories and criteria

Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Nyetimber. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.

The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
