Denmark’s top wine lists were announced at an awards ceremony in Copenhagen on 24 November 2025.

  1. Star Wine List of the Year

    Star Wine List of the Year is an international awards tour celebrating the wonderful wine lists of the world and the dedicated sommelier teams who create them. Founded in 2018, the competition now covers numerous territories, hosting highly anticipated events from September to June each year, with each season culminating in a Global Final.

    Geranium is the only three-star Michelin restaurant in Denmark and with Chef Rasmus Kofoed in the kitchen, you are set for an experience. Rasmus Kofoed is the only chef in the world who has received bronze, silver and gold at Bocuse D’Or. The restaurant is situated on the 8th floor in Fælledparken (Common Gardens) in the center of Copenhagen.

    Ræst is a small and intimate restaurant in the heart of Tórshavn, deeply rooted in the flavours of the Faroe Islands. The menu emphasises both local fermentation traditions and the exceptionally fresh fish and shellfish found around the islands – and the wine list follows suit. Their selection offers a strong focus on French wine and highlights cold-climate regions such as Champagne, Burgundy and the Loire, where freshness, minerality, and tension mirror the sea around the Faroe Islands.     Grimal is a traditional bistro, where you can find traditional French food, many different snacks and a cosy, easy-going atmosphere. There is room at the bar for eating or having a drink while waiting for a table, and tables outside that would are the preferred places to sit in summer. The wine list has a focus on the French wines, with Burgundy, the Loire and Jura as the main players. There are some ‘outsiders’ both from the Old World and the US, with a large portion of the list devoted to Italian reds. The vintages are mainly from the past five years, with a sprinkling of older wines.

    Close by the lakes of Copenhagen, you’ll find this focused wine bar where Champagne is the thing to drink. As the name suggests, it’s located in a basement (“kælder” in Danish). The atmosphere is cosy and down to earth, with dimmed lights made from Champagne bottles and a Champagne wall featuring bottles “to go”. The space is used efficiently to fit many tables, and at the high tops you may end up seated close to other guests – but this doesn’t matter much, as the acoustics are well designed, making it easy to hold a conversation.     Alchemist first opened at Østerbro in Copenhagen, in a spot with very limited capacity. Hereafter Rasmus Munk and the team got the chance to extend Alchemist, so they moved to Refshaleøen and a much bigger space. Here you will be dining under a dome which changes as long as the evening moves along.
