About Garage Bar

Alejandra Delfino, from Argentina, and Stefano Fraternali, from Emilia-Romagna, are part of the living history of natural wine in Barcelona. Garage is far more than a natural wine bar.

Let me explain.

This dark, intimate, and deeply authentic wine bar opened in 2018 in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood – an area full of life, evening strolls, and traditional tapas bars. Sant Antoni is an historic, walkable district and an essential stop for anyone who wants to understand the city beyond the obvious routes.

Why do I say they are part of wine history? Because in 2016, Alejandra and Stefano were the first to organise an independent fair exclusively dedicated to 100% natural wine producers, with no ties to distributors. The fair, called Vella Terra, is still active today and has grown to host around 140 winemakers from 13 different countries. Producers are personally invited by Alejandra and Stefano, while each winemaker maintains their own independent distribution paths. Not surprisingly, many of the wines poured at Garage come directly from these encounters and relationships forged through the fair.

The bar offers seasonal cooking with subtle Italian influences. Highlights include a beautiful vitello tonnato, steak tartare prepared to order, artichokes with parmentier, and – inevitably – an outstanding selection of artisan charcuterie and carefully chosen cheeses.

Garage is the perfect place for a glass of wine that is unlikely to be repeated the next day. The selection changes constantly, reflecting availability, seasons, and the living nature of the wines themselves.

For lovers of minimal-intervention wine, Garage is not just recommended – it is essential.
