Noble Rot Mayfair Wine List

About Noble Rot Mayfair

Part of the hugely successful Noble Rot group, this third site is located in historic Shepherd Market, where the name “Mayfair” originated. It derives from the “May Fair,” a festival held there from the 16th century until 1764 when it was discontinued for becoming too riotous. As with all Noble Rot sites, the food is exceptionally wine-friendly and the staff incredibly passionate and knowledgeable – this is the place where you could easily come away having learned something even if you consider yourself a wine buff.

The iPad bottle list runs to an impressive 1,500 lines, generally arranged by grape and linked with the region that inspired their use further afield. It is easy to read for those with wine knowledge, though help is always on hand from the helpful sommelier team if you need some guidance. The list features many sought-after and hard-to-find producers, and margins are reasonable. The selection is fun, mixing classic collector favourites with the latest micro-Burgundy producers, die hard regenerative growers and a superlative sweet wine offering. If ever you were to be converted to vin doux naturel, this vertical page will do it, with the option of 50ml pours to try some very old bottlings.

By the glass, the full offering is extensive with a whole page of ‘standard’ wines and then an additional Coravin page showcasing high-end wines. The list changes regularly encouraging repeat visits and exploration, and is available in both 75ml tasters and 125ml glasses.

The broader space over two floors also offers private and semi-private dining options.

  • A beautiful by-the-glass list that offers various artisanal wines from Europe. Great choice both style and price-wise. Two serving sizes are an added value, said the jury’s Piotr Pietras about Noble Rot Mayfair winning Best By the Glass List UK 2024.
