Noble Rot Mayfair Wine List

About Noble Rot Mayfair

The third outpost of the justly lauded Noble Rot group has opened in Mayfair, albeit appropriately tucked away amongst the historic enclave of Shepherd’s Market. It’s perhaps their most ambitious opening, boasting two floors of restaurant, two bars for walk-ins, a small terrace and their deepest wine list yet, racked away in the original cellars on site.

The restaurant menu follows their similar format: European classics from top ingredients, with perhaps a couple of Mayfair flourishes, and their ‘showpieces’ for two. It might be whole Dover sole with crab, or pink and plump roast duck in Chambertin sauce (a perfect counter to Soho’s irresistible chicken and morels in vin jaune).

Despite the high-end address, their insanely good value set lunch deal is go (£22 for two courses, £26 for three) which along with the generous bar menu of small plates means you can dine very well indeed without a Coutts account.

The wine list has close to 1,500 bins, and top growers at fair prices allow you to happily drink your way around the world. Over 30 wines by the glass, all available in taster 75ml as well as 125ml plus extra fine/rares from Coravin.

All in all, a huge asset to the area; bringing its out-of-date wining and dining scene bang up to date, alienating neither hardcore Mayfairians nor die-hard Rotters.

More recommendations

  • A beautiful by-the-glass list that offers various artisanal wines from Europe. Great choice both style and price-wise. Two serving sizes are an added value, said the jury’s Piotr Pietras about Noble Rot Mayfair winning Best By the Glass List UK 2024.
