This slick Italian restaurant from two of the three founders of The Clove Club fuses quality with cool in Clerkenwell. With a Tardis-like quality, there’s an inviting bar up front, with the large dining room languishing behind, including three beautiful private dining spaces (the covered terrace for 20 is particularly special). Save for Champagne (grower and grand marque) their wine list is exclusively Italian, arranged per region and leaning towards classic producers. There’s a handful of esoteric options, whether that be natural or skin contact, but this is a list to delight traditionalists. Whilst abundant in big names—Valentini, Burlotto, Mascarello, Conterno, Gaia, Sassicaia—every region is comprehensively covered. The BTG offer is generous and includes some finer options, plus there’s a very healthy selection of sweet wines and grappa to see you off.
