Restaurant St. Barts Wine List
About Restaurant St. Barts
A true sustainability jewel, St Barts is the only restaurant in London to have both a Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star. Hidden away in Smithfield, it has a distinctive atmosphere, set against the medieval backdrop of the city’s oldest surviving church, St Bartholomew the Great.
The food is sophisticated, centred on British sourcing, strong supplier relationships and a commitment to minimal waste. This ethos extends naturally into the décor, where hand-crafted furniture and stylish design details reinforce the restaurant’s philosophy. Evenings bring their signature tasting menu, your journey beginning with snacks in the bar. At lunch, shorter menus provide a more time-conscious alternative, and offer excellent value while sampling some incredible creations.
The wine programme mirrors the same seriousness of purpose with low intervention, terroir expression and regenerative farming forming the backbone of the selection. It has a very pleasing by-the-glass selection, allowing guests to engage with wine without committing to the full pairing.
The full list leans European but remains globally minded, with thoughtful representation from the Americas and the Antipodes, alongside a stronger-than-usual presence of English wines in keeping with the local-sourcing theme. Plenty of bottles sit below the £100 mark, balanced by more ambitious listings for those wishing to indulge.

A nice concise list showing that bigger is not always better, clever choices here make this a list full of great wines, said jury member Ronan Sayburn MS about the winning wine list in Best Short List 2023.

Precision in curation is one of the hardest things to achieve, but it is done with success here. With so few references every wine on the list serves a purpose, and here, they have reached one level further; it is dynamic and without you feeling like anything is missing at the same time – it even sparks curiosity and is clearly created by an openminded approach. And all that offered at very attractive prices. In every way a very thoughtful list, says the jury's Nina Jensen about the winning wine list in the International final 2023.

Thoughtful, comprehensive and consistent, this wine programme has sustainability at its heart. These guys walk the walk and there’s a palpable sense of responsibility running through their operations. [Gold Star, Sustainability Prize – Star Wine List of the Year UK 2026.]
