About Medlar
Medar is a smart yet relaxed fine dining restaurant in deepest, darkest Chelsea (World’s End of Kings Road) with an enthusiastic and committed approach to wine. Italian Melania Battiston is their current head sommelier, having previously been at 2850.
The wine list is broadly classical yet comprehensive – 600+ bins that arguably tick most boxes. Twenty-four wines by the glass is very welcoming, and prices are not as outrageous as you might expect for this part of town.
It’s a favourite of west London wine lovers and the trade, not least because they also offer very friendly corkage (£10 at lunchtime – not to be abused, of course!). The food is polished, modern European from skilful Chez Bruce alumni.
