Cocotte

If I was living close by, Cocotte would certainly be my “cantine” (meaning the everyday restaurant you go to)! The food is delicious, colourful and has a lot of personality. Everything is slowly cooked “à la braise” (embers) to keep the ingredients' flavours while adding a hint of smokiness.

The wine selection is as colourful with around 250 or so wines focusing on organic and biodynamic farming, highlighting niche wineries. Burgundy and Beaujolais are the main regions represented; have a look at the Maison Valette lineup, and in magnums too! However, I love to also find there the delicate Riesling from Domaine Achillée in Scherwiller (Alsace), or the accurate selection of Italian wines including wines of Valentina Passalacqua.

Also, if you feel nostalgic for the Formica era, just enter Cocotte or Cocozza (their pizza-centred restaurant next door) and enjoy the simple yet soulful charm of the decor and ambience.
