About l'Âme Sœur
Chef Olivier Paget and his wife Jacinte are two passionate souls about food and wine! A couple in life as in business, they opened l'Âme Sœur (meaning the soulmate) in 2010 and named their restaurant after the eponym Stéphane Ogier’s cuvée from a parcel in Seyssuel. Native from Beaujolais, Olivier Paget is driven by terroir, quality, and authenticity. And he learned from the very best Chefs. To name a few: Michel Rostang, Alain Dutournier, Pierre Gagnaire and Georges Blanc… The food at L’Âme soeur is thus both technical and creative and always revisits classics with a high awareness, a sense of seasons and local terroir. In pastry too… Wait until the dessert to wrap up the journey with an indulgent yet poetic crème brûlée.
When it comes to wines, the selection made by Jacinte is as accurate as the cuisine executed by Olivier. The Rhône selection is simply unbelievable (and this works for the Burgundy category too). Thierry Allemand, Pierre Gonon (in white and red), JL Chave… To say the least, you may enjoy turning the wine book page after page. There is of course room for rising stars, and also affordable and niche wines. I, for instance, enjoyed seeing the Chaume-Arnaud from Vinsobres poured by the glass or finding Maxime Magnon’s Corbières represented on the wine list.
l'Âme Sœur is an exciting family business and a place to not be missed while in Lyon!
