On May 30, Star Wine List of the Year Finland 2022 was celebrated during a live event in Helsinki. Carelia, Helsinki, won the category Best German Wine List, recognizing the best wine list with German wine. The category was presented by Wines of Germany.
"Such an incredible focus on German wines, well organised and well made. Great selection from the most important Anbaugebiete," says jury member Salvatore Castano, Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa 2021, about the winning list.
"A list with great diversity, some back vintages, and also well priced," says fellow jury member Pascaline Lepeltier, Best Sommelier of France.
Star Wine List of the Year Finland 2022 was held live with the Finnish Sommelier Championship. During the second international tour of Star Wine List of the Year we have so far also visited the Nordics, Australia, UK and Austria. The winners in the international categories will meet in the International final on June 13.
Carelia in Helsinki won the category Best German Wine List, presented by Wines of Germany. In 2021, Carelia won three silver medals: German Wine List of the Year, Sparkling Wine List of the Year and Best Medium-Sized List. This year, apart from the German category, Carelia also won Best Medium-Sized List and got a silver medal in the Best Sparkling Wine List category.

CATEGORIES AND CRITERIA
The jury members vote independently for their favorites considering width, depth, originality and value. The jurys' votes are then added up to decide the finalists and the winners.
The winners in the international categories are all qualified to the international final of Star Wine List of the Year that will be held in June.
