Manteca is a busy, vibrant Italian-inspired wood-fired restaurant in Shoreditch. Sommelier and wine buyer Emily Acha-Derrington heads up the wine list of around 200 or so bottles that gives a hefty nod to Italy (unsurprisingly) but also plenty from the rest of Europe and a smattering of select new world.
Alongside plenty of classics, there’s a ‘down the rabbit hole’ section, too; in other words plenty to suit all, at all price points. Plus, specials and mini flights for those that fancy more of a tasting vibe. Both the food and wine list are seasonal and sustainable, and Chris Leach’s food is delicious.
You’ll find some of the best fresh pasta anywhere, as well as snacks and mains cooked over wood using the very best ingredients. Buzzy, boozy, brilliant.
