Flax Wine List

About Flax

You will find Flax located on a corner of one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. It’s a café where wine takes up just as much space as cinnamon buns, and sustainability serves as a guiding principle.

Owner Buddha Browett is a well-known figure in Malmö and the driving force behind the city’s urban farming movement, under the name Los Perros. The menu is entirely vegan and built around ingredients grown in Buddha’s local urban garden, along with foraged produce from nearby forests and countryside. The result is a personal and thoughtfully curated menu.

The wine list is constantly evolving and focuses on small-scale producers, with biodynamic and low-intervention wines running as a common thread throughout the selection. In 2026, Flax was awarded a Silver Star for its personal and sustainable wine list at Star Wine List of the Year Sweden, just like the sister restaurant Fir, located just across the street.

Stepping into Flax feels like entering the living room of a bohemian friend. The interior is eclectic with soft lighting, plants and artwork, while the lively hum of conversation with friends fills the space. Exposed brick walls add an urban edge, and from the moment you walk through the door, there is no doubt that you are in Möllevången.

The atmosphere is young and relaxed. Locals and passers-by alike gather here for coffee, lunch, or a glass of wine at the bar. During the summer months, life spills out onto the outdoor terrace, which becomes a natural meeting place for the neighbourhood and its visitors.
