About Dewakan
Dewakan, one of the two restaurants awarded one Michelin star in December 2022 has a very distinctive gastronomic experience. Dewakan opened in 2015 in the Shah Alam area and then moved to Platinum Park Kuala Lumpur in 2019. Dewakan is a combination of two Bahasa Melayu words, Dewa (God) and Makan (Food), and here chef/owner Darren Teoh embark on a journey to connect people with culture. Every dish presented is highly focused on using the best locally sourced ingredients in Malaysia.
As a Malaysian myself, I have to be honest and say that sometimes I do not even know that Malaysia has such exotic and distinctive indigenous ingredients. During my previous dining experiences here these ingredients have really surprised me with a "Wow, this is interesting".
Good food won't be complete without a glass of great wine and hence Dewakan's Beverage Manager/Sommelier Leanne Lim has built a wine list that pairs perfectly with the dishes. The wines are very diverse and you will be able to find anything from classic to low-intervention wines.
