Star Wine List of the Year Asia - 23 May - save the date and enter now

On 23 May 2023, Star Wine List will celebrate the great wine lists in Asia, and the teams behind them, during Vinexpo Asia in Singapore. Restaurants and wine bars from several Star Wine List markets in Asia are welcome to sign up.

The celebration is a part of our international tour and the winners in the international categories in Asia will move on to compete against the winners from many other countries in the international final in June 2023.

For our first Star Wine List of the Year Asia, we welcome entries from the markets where Star Wine List is already active: Greater China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei; Japan; Singapore; South Korea and Thailand. In addition to them, we also accept entries from Malaysia!

Important dates

Last day to enter 26 March 2023
Event day 23 May 2023 at Vinexpo Asia.
Time: 3pm-4pm in the Conference Room.

Categories and criteria

Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the Star Wine List of the Year events. In addition, local categories may be added.

The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not so simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.

THE CATEGORIES

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
• Grand Prix
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
<200 references.
• Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Nyetimber
• Best By the Glass List
• Special Jury Prize
For a wine list that does something out of the ordinary.
• Sustainable Wine List
For the Sustainable Wine List category, not only the wine list is evaluated, but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a survey in the entry documents.

The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June, where they will face off with the category winners from other cities and countries, such as South Africa, Australia, New York, UK and Sweden.

For each category, a number of wine lists are selected as finalists and they will be announced at the end of April. At the awards ceremony on 23 May 2023, the winners will be presented with Gold Star certificates and other prizes.
