Palais Coburg – Silvio Nickol has the best wine list in Austria 2021

Palais Coburg – Silvio Nickol.

Palais Coburg – Silvio Nickol has the best wine list in Austria. The restaurant won the prestigious Grand Prix category for best Austrian wine list overall in the first ever Star Wine List of the Year Austria, presented by Austrian Wine.

”We’re lucky to have a lot of space and that we can buy wine from wherever we want. We’re all the time looking for new wines and also ripe wines in good condition – but also to get the wines out to our guests, so that the wines don’t over-ripe,” said Wolfgang Kneidinger and Thomas Juranitsch from the winning venue.

Jury member Raimonds Tomsons said:

”It’s a world class wine list and I was specifically impressed by the depth of vintages, regions and producers. That is of course the result of long time collecting and curating. I also liked the selection of sweet wines as well, really amazing.”

Palais Coburg – Silvio Nickol is now qualified for the International Star Wine List of the Year on 31 May, that will be held in partnership with Austrian Wine.

The silver medalists in the Grand Prix category were:
Die Weinbank, Ehrenhausen
Griggeler Stuba im Burg Vital Resort, Lech
Konstantin Filippou, Vienna
MAST Weinbistro, Vienna
Steirereck, Vienna
