Our London directory has been bumped up by six, reports Star Wine List's London ambassador Ruth Spivey.

A trio of modern classics from the same group – central London’s one-star Portland, its sister Clipstone and cousin The Quality Chophouse in Farringdon. These guys have always had as much of an eye on wine as food, with their carefully sourced, super reliable selection, and their signature Single Bottle Lists for when you feel the wheels simply need to come off.

Then a relatively new Shoreditch opening, St Leonards – well-priced bottles from all over Europe in a most user-friendly format with sub £50 bottles all collected together but also some serious classics alongside.

And for art (and wine) lovers The Rex Whistler Restaurant at the Tate Britain gallery is must-do (or drink). They’ve been building their cellar for decades and with it their reputation for offering classic wines at the very best prices.

Lastly, Authentique in north London – a new shop-bar-deli-bistro aka épicierie and all-round hommage to the gastronomy and enology of France. You have over different 650 bottles to get you started…

Sadly we have been reached by the news that Mash Steak House in SoHo is no longer open. We hope to welcome them back in another location soon.

Check out all the new venues and their wine lists through the links below.

Cheers!
