About Ekstedt
The fire is still burning at Ekstedt, which was one of the first to use fire as the main source of energy in the kitchen. The restaurant has become a fix star on the fine dining scene in Stockholm, with more than ten years at the top level. At a recent visit I really think Michelin should have added a star to their one star plaque. The tasting menu is creative with beautiful and creative takes on some of the kitchen's classics (the flambadou dishes stay with us).
Niklas Ekstedt is the celebrity chef behind it and he is often at the restaurant supporting the stellar international team in the kitchen and dining room. We also applaud that Ekstedt accepts guests with all allergies and dietary requirements, not always a given.
PS If you were at Ekstedt in the early days and are concerned with the smoke, no need to fear that now. The ventilation has been upgraded and the air is as clear as the ambiance is warm.
About the Ekstedt Wine List
Wine-wise, the restaurant has gone through a few iterations and is now firmly rooted in European classics with Italy and France as anchors. The wine pairings are well planned to explore wines from less known origins.
