About Cocina Gardenia
Now in an unbeatable location inside the beautiful San Martín Park, Gardenia has long been a favourite among Mendoza foodies. Known for its small sharing plates (‘platitos’) and arguably the city's best weekend brunch, Gardenia's menu and hours shift with seasons: in winter, its open-air rooftop terrace limits service to lunch and brunch but, from spring through autumn, it transforms into a lively evening spot with dinner served up Wednesday through Saturday. The vibe is laid-back yet stylish, and chef-owner Ginella Mazzocca is quickly becoming one of Mendoza's most exciting culinary talents. Mazzocca also heads up the family-style restaurant, Habitat, on the ground floor.
The wine list rotates through approximately 50 thoughtfully-chosen labels, with a strong focus on small, independent producers and artisanal styles – including an impressive selection of orange wines and gastronomic rosés. A few wines are available by the glass, and there's also the option to take bottles away for a vinous picnic in the park. Bottles are very reasonably priced, but be sure to check out the bar menu first – Gardenia also has one of the best bartenders in city.
