Valeria Gamper, Argentina, won ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas 2022
Valeria Gamper, sommelier and wine educator, is the new ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas. After a week of competitions in Chile, she was announced the winner. Hugo Duchesne, Canada, was runner-up and Martin Bruno, Argentina, came in third.
The announcement was made on stage at the event held this afternoon in Santiago and broadcast live to the world via ASI’s Youtube page.
Valeria Gamper is a sommelier, wine educator and writer for the Argentinian Sommelier Association and Wines of Argentina. She also won Best Sommelier of Argentina in 2019.
As the new ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas, Valeria has automatically qualified, as one of three continental contest winners, for the ASI Best Sommelier of the World contest to be held in Paris, France in 2023.
