Brogatan Wine List

About Brogatan

Brogatan doesn’t easily fall into the categories of either restaurant or wine bar. Offering a wealth of activities, there’s everything from late-night indie concerts and stand-up comedy, to basement techno clubs, bistro-style food – and good wine. I enjoy coming here because there isn’t a set list for glass servings and the sommelier is happy to open interesting bottles instead. There’s also a great vibe and mix of people, especially in autumn and winter.

The owners of Brogatan lead a creative group that has updated a classic venue, transforming it into a bustling living room and cultural hub where guests of all ages and styles love to hang out. The interior retains its old bistro charm, the centre piece a beautiful, rounded bar that usually gathers a crowd. If you look closely, you’ll see carved grapevines in zinc along the bar’s edges, which are illuminated by a neon red light art installation. You can enjoy a glass of wine at the lively bar, at the bistro tables, or seated in the calmer, more private inner room.

Brogatan’s wine list stays within Europe and features wines from artisanal producers across the continent, with a clear emphasis on France, where Burgundy, as well as Jura and the Loire Valley, shine brightest. You’ll also find gems from Italy and Germany. The list is young, as are most of the wines, but expect names from renowned biodynamic growers along with discoveries for the well-informed.

The restaurant’s head sommelier brings extensive experience from some of Malmö’s best establishments, which is leaving its mark on a list that will likely continue to mature – just like the wines.
