About Barents
Barents is a new and exciting project to arrive on Riga’s fine dining scene, created by wine and food lovers who really know and understand fine dining and the importance of creating a welcoming ambience. As the name suggests, the menu at Barents focuses heavily on the best seasonal seafood from cool waters with minimalistic cooking, but also includes some meat dishes such as venison to keep the carnivores happy. Headed up by innovative chef Dzintars Kristovskis, Barents offers the choice of either an à la carte or a tasting menu. The restaurant has an open kitchen, and for those who want to see the culinary action close up, the chef's table is a must. And don’t forget to check out Barents’ Seafood & Cocktail bar next door, with its excellent selection of delicacies, snacks and quick bites for a more laid-back vibe, complemented by a concise wine list and top-quality cocktails.

About the Barents Wine List
The wine programme is managed by two young and passionate sommeliers – Ņikita Zaičenkovs and Linda Karpenko, with the list including carefully curated up-and-coming producers and rising stars, as well as well-established classics, mostly from France, Italy and Spain. There is a strong accent on German and Austrian wines, with larger formats and older vintages as well. Barents also has a fine grower Champagne list including many big-hitters. Most of the wines are directly sourced from the producer’s cellar doors, guaranteeing quality and adding a personal touch to the whole wine experience. Barents tasting menu is complemented by a sommeliers’ wine pairing, and they also have a great BTG offering and compact wine list in the neighbouring bar.
