Les 110 de Taillevent London won Best Sparkling Wine List

Les 110 de Taillevent London, the UK branch of the iconic Paris restaurant Le Taillevent, has been named the winner of the Best Sparkling Wine List of the 2023 Star Wine List of the Year UK with The Buyer.

Presented by Nyetimber, this award recognizes the list that offers the best curation of sparkling wines.

Jury member Piotr Pietras MS said that Les 110 de Taillevent London offers a beautiful sparkling wine selection that was strong at every price point. “A great balance of grower Champagnes and Grandes Marques brands. The list also offers some interesting sparkling wines from England and benchmark wines from other European countries.”

Lukasz Kuszela of Les 110 de Taillevent said how happy the team were to be present, once again, at the awards.

"We continue what we are doing," he said. "One hundred and ten wines — you could imagine that it’s quite hard to work with and maintain, but it’s actually quite easy. How do design it, change, update and serve? For our guests it’s of course great to have the opportunity to try so many different wines by the glass, at every range and price point.”

When asked how the wine list was going to be maintained, team member Isabelle Strutt said they went to a lot of tastings. "Our list keeps on growing, so hopefully next year we will back and even better."

The award was presented at the Winemakers Club in London on Monday, 20 February 2023.

Les 110 de Taillevent in London is an embassy of the classic Paris restaurant Le Taillevent and its sibling Les 110 de Taillevent in Paris. Located by Cavendish Square, just a short walk from Oxford Street, the elegant brasserie has a relaxed but high-end approach to wine.

As for the name “Les 110 de Taillevent”, the 110 refers to the number of wines available by the glass, in either 70ml or 125ml. There are 30 a la carte dishes to accompany the extensive wine list.

About the 2023 Star Wine List of the Year UK with The Buyer awards

Star Wine List of the Year is an international celebration of the great wine lists of the world and the people who create them.

“These are awards that celebrate the work of those who work at the very pinnacle of wine,” says Krister Bengtsson, the founder and publisher of Star Wine List.

In the UK, the award has been a joint offering of Star Wine List, based in Sweden, and The Buyer, the UK’s top digital wine trade publication.

The judges included a star-studded lineup of sommeliers: Ronan Sayburn MS, Piotr Pietras MS, and Jan Konetzki. They were joined by Star Wine List’s UK Ambassador, Ruth Spivey.

The 2023 Star Wine List of the Year UK with The Buyer is part of Star Wine List’s international awards, now the benchmark for wine lists. Other competitions have taken place in the Nordics, South Africa and Australia.

As the winner of the Best Sparkling Wine List, Les 110 de Taillevent has qualified to take part in our International Final in June, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents, such as South Africa, Australia, and Sweden.
