About Windsor

I don’t think I’m mistaken in saying that Joan Junyent, co-owner of Windsor, is one of the finest front-of-house professionals in Spain. His elegance, empathy, sense of occasion, and ability to truly understand and care for guests are expressed with exceptional finesse.

Windsor is a classical restaurant, housed in a noble building in Barcelona’s Eixample, which opened in 1996 with the ambition of being a true grand restaurant. Round tables, a beautiful and generous dining room, and a charming interior terrace define a space of great serenity and distinction. Despite the beauty of the setting and the precision of the service, what consistently surprises me is the excellent balance between what you pay and what you receive.

Juan is also a genuine lover of wine. The cellar features around 450 references, guided by a clear and honest philosophy, as he himself puts it, “to have a bit of everything, without trying to have everything.” The sommelier team is completed by Maxime Gabriel Ros and Samuel Sila, two professionals from whom guests will receive not just good advice, but truly thoughtful guidance.

The wine list, much like the restaurant itself, breathes classicism and includes essential references. There is a strong presence of Catalan and Spanish wines, complemented by a well-judged international selection, with Bordeaux playing a particularly important role.

Windsor also offers around 20 wines by the glass, many of them served using Coravin. Particularly noteworthy are the two wine pairings available: the ‘Windsor’ pairing and the ‘Premium’ pairing, each offering a different level of depth and ambition.

Windsor is a classic that never fails. Warm service, cuisine built on time, technique, and deep-flavoured sauces – a cuisine of tradition executed with modern precision. It is a restaurant where one feels genuinely cared for and indulged.
