Ristorante Ponte Pietra

Overlooking the River Adige and the ancient Roman bridge that was destroyed during the Second World War, Osteria Ponte Pietra offers some of the most evocative views of the city in a truly romantic setting. As you would expect, given that owner Gianni Pascucci also ran the famous Bottega del Vino for twenty years, the cellar is nothing short of sumptuous. While Italian labels dominate the list, there is also an extensive array of Champagne to choose from and a careful selection of French, Slovenian, German and Austrian whites, as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.

The menu itself includes stewed snails and roasted scallops to start, while diners can also choose between various steaks, tuna, octopus and turbot. Worth it just for the view but with the food and the wine to match!
