About Caffè Monte Baldo

Today Caffè Monte Baldo is overseen by Simone Vesentin and is the perfect spot for an aperitivo. Established in 1909, it remained in the hands of the Tazzini family for the next 70 years, before being taken over by the current owners. With a mouth-watering selection of canapés and cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by a glass of local wine, Caffè Monte Baldo is a popular choice in the historic centre of Verona. The eye-catching tartina (open canapé-style sandwiches to rival Spanish tapas and Venetian cicchetti) was introduced by Simone’s father and is Monte Baldo’s signature dish.

The caffè also offers a high-quality lunch and dinner menu with a focus on local ingredients and typical Veronese dishes. The award-winning wine list is extensive, with over 300 labels, more than half of which are local, including a fine selection of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG.
