About MOS
Restaurant MOS at Amsterdam's 'IJ' waterside is one of those restaurants where you could eat every week and never feel like it's repetitive. Though the setting is formal-chique, it is a very warm and comfortable place. The Michelin-starred food has always been good and over time seems to have improved to even higher standards.
Light, refined, and at the same time unpretentious. The water view is fantastic, the service is friendly, and the wine list is great. Also very important, the value for money is superb, which is an extra reason to go back regularly. If you're looking for a more fancy night out, MOS is a must.
About the MOS Wine List
MOS' wine list is a bit of a hidden gem amongst the more luxurious restaurants in the city. Not only does it reflect sommelier Danilo Ruiz' love for Burgundy and Italian reds, with prices like at MOS, but the keyword here is also 'love'. You can find aged Burgundy Grand Cru for under 200 euro's, a relative bargain.
Also for people who wish not to go that far financially, Ruiz, who has been part of the team since the opening, has a great selection. Though prices start at around 50 euros, mark-ups are very decent, and at this price point, you can find a great pure chablis from Piuze or Nascetta from Cogno. Worth every penny.
