Le Troquet

Le Troquet is a must-visit restaurant in Lyon, and particularly adored by any bons vivants. The chef and co-founder of this very friendly place, Florian Béal welcomes you first with a big smile, which makes you feel at ease right away.

Flo and his loyal team are always excited to share with guests their latest additions to the wine list or a recent tasting they’ve attended. Cellar-wise, the 300-strong selection is at the top of its game with what can be found today in the vins vivants world. Not to mention, Florian knows his wines well and can answer all your questions!

Cherry on the cake: you may even get a quick tour of the underground cellar so that you can pick out your own wines (of course, only if Florian has the time for it, as he does the cooking too!). Once here, it feels so special, almost like you are about to discover a secret part of Lyon or the old cellar of your grandfather. It cannot get any more authentic.

The food does not disappoint either. Creative yet comforting, the cuisine is like a fusion of terroir-based products with a street food twist. Florian plays with flavours, using lots of fresh herbs and great seasoning, while caring for textures (make sure you taste the flavourful octopus or the sweet and sour fried pork cheeks). The menu comes in small plates meant to be shared – a perfect invitation to taste it all.
