About Jaja Bistro
Initially, there was Jaja Power, a company born in 2018 to design food and wine events and experiences in Lyon. But founders Antoine Kochen and Chloé Courbière are unstoppable and in 2021 they opened Jaja, a wine cellar and art gallery in the old Lyon, and then Jaja Bistro in 2023.
Jaja Bistro is made of good vibes and great people, along with the very cool concept of being a chef’s residency: every month or so, Jaja Bistro hosts a new chef, either based in France or abroad. This makes it always exciting to go back, knowing the menu evolves permanently, not to mention the open kitchen, which is fully part of the engaging experience.
The 350-odd wine selection focuses mostly on biodynamic and natural wines. I also love that Antoine and Chloé are ‘out there’ – they visit winemakers, taste with them, and are always seeking producers under the radar. If you are keen to discover less well-known regions or emerging vignerons, along with ‘classics’ of the natural wine world, Jaja Bistro is your place! Ask Antoine or Chloé for advice if you are looking for wines with a bit of age.
