Located at the foot of the Croix-Rousse slopes, Soif ! stands out as a unique venue on Lyon’s wine scene, blending a wine bar with a retro gaming universe in an approach that is both playful and refreshingly unconventional.

What’s most striking here is the contrast between substance and setting: a serious, extensive and well-curated wine selection within a space dedicated to gaming. Arthur Verdiel brings together his two passions, and the balance feels natural rather than forced.

The venue attracts both wine professionals and curious drinkers, across all generations. The selection moves across organic, biodynamic, natural and more conventional wines, offering a broad and open approach where different philosophies coexist. Several cuvées from the same estates are often listed, allowing for a more nuanced understanding of each producer’s work. A small but notable surprise can also be found in the sparkling section, with a few spontaneous fermentation beers – a rare and thoughtful addition.
