About High Treason
For many years, the Outer Richmond was a vast district with many a dive bar and hidden food gem and nary a serious wine bar — until High Treason opened up on Clement Street. When I say serious, I mean it: co-owners John Vuong and Michael Ireland have a number of Michelin stars between them from past work at restaurants like The French Laundry, Quince, Ame, and Gary Danko. They know their schist! But for all their access and expertise, the duo prefers to keep it laid back in their own space.
About the High Treason Wine List
A motley assortment of vinyl leans back between bottles in a place of pride at the end of the long, low bar. Mondays are “TCA Somm System”, featuring a rotating mix of personalities from within the wine community — winemakers, sommeliers, and wine reps alike — curating both music and special BTG options. The food menu begins with light bites and extends all the way up to a New York strip steak for those with Pommard, Barbaresco, or Scribe Cabernet Sauvignon on the mind. Give me a few bowls of highly snackable porcini-brown butter popcorn with anything on the menu, be it Maillart Champagne or Tatomer Riesling.
Wine Tasting at High Treason
Every Monday a different industry professional featured as both DJ and wine curator.
