The d’Anna family has been operating the Balwyn store from their rich Italian heritage and enriching Melbourne’s culinary landscape with authentic Italian flair with a modern twist. A project that organically evolved from 60 years of being an Italian wine and food store and grocer whilst operating successful Italian wine distributing company Mondo Imports, Enoteca Boccaccio finally offers an outlet for all the produce and vino to be enjoyed by day and night coupled with a serious offer from the kitchen.
An extensive list from both their own Italian imports with verticals of Barolo and the owner’s other favourite classics like Burgundy and German Riesling sourced from their private collection, as well as other reputable importers, await the wine lover in search for rarities, especially accessible by the glass thanks to their Coravin program. Their take on this wine bar is close to old school giving the vibes of salumi platters to be enjoyed with a glass of aged Barbaresco. Good Food Guide awarded them a hat only a few weeks after opening, saying a lot about their commitment to excellence, displaying virtuosity in all things gourmet.
