About Venta Moncalvillo
Located in the village of Daroca de Rioja, one of the smallest villages in Europe, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, this two-Michelin-star and Michelin Green Star restaurant is run by the Echapresto brothers. The gastronomy is based on products from their own garden, worked biodynamically, giving value to vegetables, which is the main focus of their tasting menu.
With Ignacio Echapresto running the kitchen and Carlos Echapresto in the dining room, they create a unique and unrepeatable experience. The wine list is one of the most valued in Spain, awarded with many international prizes and featuring more than 2,000 references, making this place a pilgrimage for wine lovers. In charge of the cellar is Iván Sánchez Fernández, a young and experienced sommellier who has been with the house for many years, giving great value to the cellar and the service of the wine.
In his list, you will find all the historical vintages of the most important wineries of Rioja as well as a wide range from the most classic regions of the Old World, such as Jerez, Barolo, Bordeaux and Burgundy, plus wines from the New World.
