About Tegelbacken
Tegelbacken is a colourful (literally speaking) little gem in the middle of central Stockholm that offers equal parts relaxed cosiness and elegant flair. With a view of the water and the Parliament building, the restaurant is a lovely oasis in the middle of the well-trafficked hubbub outside. The kitchen is led by well-known TV chef Markus Aujalay, and medium-sized dishes inspired by a variety of cuisines are served here. Always with pure, fine-tuned flavours and plenty of finesse.
The wine list is not huge but very well curated and with a focus on Europe in general and France in particular, with detours to the USA and Australia, among others. On the list you will find plenty of classic producers and regions, sometimes also with some vintage depth. The price point is very reasonable, and there are great wines to be found for all budgets.
If you want a table in the dining room, it is recommended that you book in advance, but there are always drop-in places in the bar, both for a quick glass of wine or a full dinner.
