Mr. Bronck

Mr. Bronck is the new restaurant in the recently renovated and refreshed Sheraton Stockholm Hotel. The name gives a clear hint at the philosophy behind both the food and the wines: Jonas Bronck was the Småland native who traveled to America in the first half of the seventeenth century – and the man who gave the borough of the Bronx its name.

“New York Soul. Made in Sweden,” the restaurant says about its food, and it’s a description that fits well. Here, Swedish ingredients – prepared with the distinctly international touch of Manhattan – take centre stage. On the menu you’ll find dishes such as jumbo shrimp cocktail, lobster toll, surf ‘n’ turf, as well as a full selection of different cuts prepared for grilling.

The wine list – built by veteran Janni Berndt Dahl – is described as “New World energy. Old World soul”, and has a firm grip on the New World, with an especially strong focus on the United States. At the same time, there are plenty of options from Europe, particularly France and Italy. The list holds a fun mix of classic producers and regions alongside more curious and unexpected finds; it’s already packed with great wines, but the plan is for it to grow even further going forward.
