The rather angular exterior of the Waterfront Building does little to prepare you for the warm atmosphere you find inside. Among mismatched velvet chairs, deep sofas and a lively bar, grilled food and great wines are to be had. Griffin’s wine list has classics from Bordeaux and Burgundy but also a good selection of California wines. Champagne lovers also have plenty to choose from on the Griffins wine list.

Savant is a wine bar in Stockholm that changes profile during the day. From early morning it's a café and later in the day it turns into a neighbourhood wine bar with charcuteries and some small dishes. Niche Wine List Of The Year Nordic 2019
Bar Central is the right place if you’re tired of new Nordic minimalism. A hearty central European cuisine is served with either proper Pilsner or a very good range of Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners from Germany and Austria. Hungary and Croatia are also present on the list of over 200 wines.

Champagne List of the Year Sweden 2019
The grandest hotel in the city also boasts one of the grandest wine cellars, including a bottle from the year the hotel opened, 1874. The wine list is massive and accessible in the hotel’s classic Veranda restaurant and Cadier bar, as well as in the Mathias Dahlgren restaurants Rutabaga and Matbaren.

Matbaren (the food bar) is Mathias Dahlgren’s modern bistro. A seasonal menu of magical medium sized dishes is served at tables or at the bar, for both lunch and dinner.

Operakällaren in Stockholm’s Opera House is probably the most beautiful dining room in Sweden. And the service is like a scene from the Opera stage, professional, classic and warm. The menu is French-inspired, classical and executed at the highest level (one Michelin star). The wine list is massive, classical and carries over 1500 listings.

At Rutabaga, maestro Mathias Dahlgren creates the next generation’s lacto-ovo-vegetarian menu. Produce from all over the world is used to create dishes that can be shared, combined or eaten separately. The wine list is rooted in Europe and focuses on organic and natural wines. Vassa Eggen is a classic large scale Steakhouse a stone’s throw from Stureplan. The wine list spans from California, including big guns like Sine Qua Non and Harlan, to France and a number of other wine countries.

The Sparrow is (despite the Anglo name) a French wine bar and restaurant attached to the Stockholm hotel with the same name. The venue is owned by Grand Hotel and its master chef Mathias Dahlgren has been involved in the cuisine.

Ferdinand Vinrum means Ferdinand wine room and it is indeed a room hidden beneath a restaurant at party square Stureplan in central Stockholm. The wine bar is led by experienced sommelier Hans Wejnefalk-Larsson, with both top Stockholm and London wine bars and restaurants on his cv. The extra bonus for party wine people - it is open until 3 AM on weekends.

When Restaurant Frantzén re-opened in September 2018, they quickly and justly gained a lot of attention, and only half a year later the restaurant was awarded three Michelin stars – the first and only three-star in Sweden.
