Casse-Croute Wine List
About Casse-Croute
The most 'French' French bistro in London? Quite possibly. It's small, buzzy and très, très bon; complete with checkered table clothes and a blackboard menu. They serve authentic and excellent bistro cooking on Bermondsey Street - a hotbed of great independent restaurants - followed by cheese and the likes of Paris Brest and Ile Flottante for dessert.
About the Casse-Croute Wine List
The wine list is 100% French and good value - from the short 'main' wine list of eight whites and eight reds all by the glass, carafe and bottle and a couple of sparklings. They favour small, biodynamic producers. There's a further list with more expensive bottles and older vintages that's always worth a look. In correct bistro fashion they have classic aperitifs to start (Dubonnet, Lillet, Pineau des Charentes) and digestifs to finish (Chartreuse, Absinthe, Calvados, Eau de Vies). A fantastic place to go to swap London for Paris without getting on a train.
