About Bernardino Gourmeteria
What makes this laidback restaurant one to hunt down is that it has one of the better selections of natural wines and small producers in Mendoza. Although there’s no wine menu per se, you’ll find some of the harder-to-come-by labels here at really good prices. Take a pew either inside the converted townhouse or on the street side tables out front, and order the excellent tortilla de papa before you even take a look at the menu. It’s the best tortilla in the city. Bernardino’s light menu of bites and gourmet sandwiches makes it a good choice any time of day, and a popular spot for breakfast and coffee too.
There’s no list here, but as soon as you walk in the door you are effectively stepping into the wine cellar-cum-wine shop. The selection is small, with no more than 40 labels, but it has one of Mendoza’s better collections of natural wines and small, artisanal producers. Wines by the glass are limited, but the bottle prices are so good that it doesn’t really matter.
