Bar Rix

Bar Rix is a cosy wine bar founded in 2018 by the one and only Valentine Mühlberger in central Cologne. Valentine's mother is from France and she got bitten by the wine bug in the early 2000s in St. Emilion helping with the harvest. After that, she also studied oenology in Burgundy, including internships at Bize-Leroy and Chateau Latour! Back in Germany, she first worked as a freelancer to then fulfil her dream of a wine bar.

The wine focus of Bar Rix is, as you can imagine, French and German with some gems from Austria and Eastern Europe. The list contains over 300 labels, and nearly all producers featured are certified organic or biodynamic. Regularly, Bar Rix offers special tastings – also online. Valentine serves classic wine bar food: Bread, cheese, cured meat and other bits from local, high-quality producers.
